Academic Scholarships
Students who graduate as salutatorian or valedictorian from a Christian school may apply for this scholarship. Students who have a minimum composite score of 25 on the ACT or 1140 on the SAT will also qualify for this scholarship. An official copy of the ACT or SAT must be sent directly to the college. In order for the student to qualify for salutatorian or valedictorian portion of this scholarship, there must be at least five students in their graduating class. If the scholarship is awarded, the student will receive one semester’s tuition free. Students who are eligible for this scholarship may not receive the Full-time Christian Service Scholarship or the First GSBC Student Scholarship.
College Days Scholarship
High school seniors attending College Days who make a first-time commitment to attend Golden State Baptist College in the fall semester immediately preceding graduation will be eligible to receive a $50.00 scholarship towards their tuition. The scholarship is nontransferable and must be used during registration for the student’s first semester expenses.
Family Scholarships
If a husband is paying as a full-time student, his wife may take one course at no charge. She would be subject to all of the college rules and demerit system. If a husband is paying as a full-time student, his wife may take additional courses at half of the regular cost.
A second family scholarship is available for a student who is studying to enter the pastorate. The recipient must be a married, full-time student who has been in GSBC for at least one academic year and who has at least one child. In addition, the student’s eligibility will be individually considered. Character, integrity, honesty, work ethic and grades will all be taken into account. The amount of the scholarship will be no charge for the normal tuition rate to those who are eligible. A limited number of these scholarships are available.
First GSBC Student Scholarship
The first student to attend GSBC from a particular church will receive a $500 credit towards the first payment. If this applies to more than one student from the same church in one semester, all are eligible for this scholarship. This scholarship may also be earned by students who receive the Pastors’ Children’s Scholarship and the Missionary Scholarship.
Freedom Scholarship
The tuition is reduced 50% for students whose major is pastoral theology, pastoral assistant or missions and who have served our country in active military duty and have been honorably discharged. If applying for this scholarship, students will need to provide a copy of the DD214 that was issued to them upon discharge.
Full-Time Christian Service Scholarship
Students who have a parent in full-time Christian service are eligible for this scholarship. A credit of $500 will be applied to the first payment. Students who are eligible for this scholarship may not receive the First GSBC Student Scholarship.
Missionary Scholarship
This applies to students whose parents are presently missionaries outside of the United States. The tuition is reduced by 50% for young ladies and 25% for young men. Pastors’ Children’s Scholarship
