SC 102 General Science 3 hours
An introduction to the basic concepts of scientific principles, functions, and applications. Not for credit in teaching field of Secondary Education major.
SC 201 General Chemistry 3 hours
A general course examining the periodic table, atomic structure, names and formulas of compounds, chemical bonds and reactions.
SC 202 Inorganic Chemistry 3 hours
Examines atomic and molecular structure, ionic equilibria, thermodynamics, and coordination chemistry.
SC 203 Organic Chemistry 3 hours
Prerequisite: MA 202. This course studies the structure and reaction mechanisms of organic compounds. It includes the principles of stereochemistry and infrared spectroscopy.
SC 302 Biological Science 3 hours
An introduction to the basic principles of living organisms, including cell biology and scientific methodology.
SC 305, 306 Physics I and II 3 hours
This course examines the concepts of mechanics, motion, force, the structure and properties of matter, heat, electricity, and wave motion. Three hours each semester.
SC 401 General Geology 3 hours
A study of the general principles of geology, including the earth’s composition, structure, and opertions.
